I've been thinking about opposition in all things and how important having an understanding of that balance can be in everything we communicate. No one is flatly evil. No one is completely dark. And no story should ignore the light in sacrifice to the shadows. zippityzernshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09782385540746249292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-666339015694384454.post-54353337523248777682017-03-25T13:30:47.155-07:002017-03-25T13:30:47.155-07:00Awesome list. His work, prolific indeed, makes me want to do more with my life, cast off anything irrelevant to eternity. Truman G. Madsen has some interesting things to say about Nibley's personality and appearance, but I can't seem to find the video.
I started reading Temple and Cosmos before Since Cumorah, but it ended up in storage for a while, and since I've gotten it out, I've taken my sweet time slowly reading it a few pages at a time. The fear of being finished has kept me from fully and consistently engaging with the book, but now, after reading the review of this one, it seems unlikely that Nibley's wisdom will ever run out. It's time to move on. Reading is vital to being compassionate to other people that you may not always technically agree with. When you are able to constantly put yourself in another's place through reading, it only makes sense that you are able to do so more in the real world as well. Personally, I thought the plot centered around the romance between the two characters with the circus being merely the arena and the background. It was a beautiful romance, very tastefully done, giving the reader the overall feeling of their growing connection and conflict without all the gorey details so to speak. But you haven't mentioned the romantic aspect at all in your review :) I think to discount that from this book is to strip it of what makes it so well received. I am still constantly searching for other books that combine the fantasy genre with a slight romance that will give me the feeling this book did, and I'm constantly disappointed.Meganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13488541306043317638noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-666339015694384454.post-85060397067212729842016-07-18T19:03:27.903-07:002016-07-18T19:03:27.903-07:00Good review and I agree.Good review and I agree.zippityzernshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09782385540746249292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-666339015694384454.post-41606756131832778062016-05-06T21:39:59.657-07:002016-05-06T21:39:59.657-07:00You Share pretty good post about 7 habits of highl...You Share pretty good post about 7 habits of highly effective peopleRizwanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07766526813838598700noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-666339015694384454.post-55281038960221893532016-04-24T13:45:31.000-07:002016-04-24T13:45:31.000-07:00Amen, Adam.
